@Greg - Hey! Thanks for the niceness about my work. I appreciate it. I just checked out your site, and really dig what you're doing too. And I do have a nose whistle. Aren't they awesome? Fun to play. And definitely in the weird-but-non-sucky category.

Hey Fabeku -

Just discovered your site and really like your work. In fact, you could say I 'resonate' with what you've got to say!

Do you have a nose whistle? I got one from a musician/healer from Brazil. It's another great and weird instrument that doesn't suck.

In rhythm,

-Greg

Hey taters! Thanks for checking out the video and for all of your comments. I'm totally happy to hear that you dug the video. Because I have a ton of fun doing it, and now I have another excuse to do more.

@Kathy - Thanks again for putting this up on Facebook. I appreciate it bunches.

@Gina - Did my walls upstage me? I'll have to talk to my agent about this. And I hope your kids enjoyed the video of weird and wonderful instruments.

@Christine - The credit totally goes to the whistling vessels. They're like the Wheaties of musical instruments.

@Wulfie - Yeah, the dan moi kind of rocks my world.

@Victoria - Thanks. I really dig doing the videos. I never imagined I would, so it's weird. But I do.

@Deborah - I will pass on your gratitude to the high ninja council. They will appreciate it. They try to act tough, but they totally love any bits of appreciation they get.

@Michelle - I don't feel the vibration of the dan moi in my teeth much. That's one of the reasons why I like them over other types of mouth harps. And I'm sure you know instruments that I don't. Toss a few out, if you want.

@Anna-Liza - Thanks for digging it. And thanks for saying so. I appreciate both.

@Katie - Those tezcats are so cool! I've had them on my "must get" list, along with the fabulous quad Huilacapitzli whistle too. I think it's so cool that you had a tezcat!

@Julia - Kalimbas rock! They have the coolest sound. I think there's something kind of meditative about them too. And I've actually heard of Rhythm Fusion. Had some friends that lived in Santa Cruz that raved about it. The theremin is so cool I don't even know what to say about it. And the Mellotron just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. That's rad that your brother-in-law has a bunch of awesome.

Thanks again for all of your comments. I could talk about instruments forever. You all rock the Casbah.

That was fun! I have a kalimba that I got at Rhythm Fusion, a great drum/percussion store in Santa Cruz, CA, and I love it. Rhythm Fusion is also where I learned to love gongs! My brother-in-law is a electronic instrument nerd - he has mellotrons and therumens and all sorts of odd things that he uses as a recording engineer. It's always cool to see the different ways people create and use sound.

I totally enjoyed learning about a couple of instruments that were new to me. Thanks for sharing. I am about as un-musical as you can get, but I do enjoy my tezcat because not only can I make simple whistling sounds, but at times I can even manage birdlike sounds. It was so easy to play, I was thrilled.

Ohh, now I want a dan moi!!! But . . . do you feel the vibration in your teeth very much when you play one? They sound SO cool!

Can't wait to see what instruments are next in the series! And I'm wondering if I know any that you don't, so I can surprise you.

Doubtful. :)
